Ho Sung spent his formative years growing up in Toronto, after moving here as a child with his family in the late 1960’s.  The personal experience of acclimatizing to, and eventually assimilating a new culture into his life has provided Ho with a profound appreciation for diversity of life experiences as a valuable personal resource, as well as a cultural asset in our society.

Ho studied Arts & Sciences at University College, U of T, where he pursued courses in many diverse disciplines, and explored their ‘inter-relatedness’.  Later, Ho studied Architecture at U of T, and then at the graduate level at the Syracuse University’s Florence Centre, where his work was primarily on the intersection of Architecture and Urban Design.

As an Architect, Ho Sung practices Architecture as an ‘integrated’ discipline, where Architecture, Urban Design, Interior design and Landscape design are all considered to be integral parts of the built environment that need to work together for ‘good design’.  The firm of Ho K. Sung Architect was established in 1996.  Ho Sung has more than 25 years of professional experience.

Ho Sung spent his formative years growing up in Toronto, after moving to Canada with his family, attending school, scout meetings and playing street hockey(!).  Toronto is truly a multi-cultural city, and it has provided Ho with a profound sense of appreciation for diversity of life-experiences and ideas, not only as a source of personal inspiration, but also as a valuable resource for our society at large.

Ho studied Arts & Sciences at University College, University of Toronto, where he studied in many diverse disciplines, but always exploring their ‘inter-relatedness’, in pursuit of an 'expansive' education.  Afterwards, Ho studied Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture at U of T, and also studied abroad at Cornell University and in Paris.  Upon completing his Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Ho worked professionally in Toronto in various firms for several years to gain practical work experience, before enrolling in the Master's program at the Syracuse University’s Florence Centre.  Ho's explorations in Florence were primarily focused on the intersections of Architecture, Urban Design and garden design.

As an Architect, Ho Sung practises Architecture as an ‘integrated’ discipline, where Architecture, Urban Design, Interior design and Landscape design are all given careful consideration with the goal of achieving the best possible solutions for our built environment.

The firm of Ho K. Sung Architect was established in 1996.  Ho Sung has more than 25 years of professional experience.

In addition to running his practice, Ho is active with several volunteer programs, including mentoring OAA interns, and undergraduate students.  Ho has also served as a guest critic at U of T and at Ryerson U. at student reviews.
